Awesome build quality and blade! This is a serious little hatchet! It's equipped with a nice little weighted hammer head on the backside of the blade, and a nice lighted handle. The plastic sheath is a great addition, and can be easy mounted a variety of different ways! Awesome for the price!!

Good little axe, perfect for a camp bag, bug out bag, or anytime else you need a small, easy to carry but useful hatchet.

The description should be reduced to just "Camping Tactical Hatchet". The hatchet boasts 5Cr15MoV steel, which is ok on a knife with small, daily tasks but on a bushcraft/survival axe? I have to admit, I had little expectations before this little guy (or girl) arrived but it has surprised me. I took it out back to process some ash logs. Obviously it's not a splitter, the head profile is more of a chopping axe but I tried anyway. It won't split a log down the middle but excels at shaving and splitting around the edges for kindling. The steel held up well after one log, no rolls or dulling that I could see/feel. I like how the hammer is it's own, separate component. If you accidentally (or intentionally) hit something harder than the steel, and the hammer breaks, it shouldn't compromise the rest of the axe head. The kydex sheath is solid. It does attach to MOLLE equipment, but two snap straps seem excessive, and there is no way to reverse the clip. If you are right handed and secure this to your belt on your right hip the "pointy end" will be facing backwards.

Perfect for camping, not got for chopping fire wood.

Good to use apart of my off-roading gear, used this to chop down some bushes that were in the way over the weekend. Definitely saved me a lot of time and was able to get the move on quicker! Super sharp and feels of quality!

This hatchet is surprisingly sharp right out of the box, which is always a nice bonus, and the compact design makes it perfect for taking on hikes or camping trips. The non-slip handle provides a secure grip, so it feels safe and comfortable to use even in wet conditions. The construction feels durable and heavy-duty, so it can handle a good range of outdoor tasks without a hitch��great for splitting small logs, carving, and even doing some hammering, thanks to the usable hammer side. The only drawbacks I found were that the belt clip isn��t the most reliable, and it��s really only ideal for light to medium use. If you��re planning to cut down larger trees, this hatchet isn��t quite up to the task. For general camp use, though, it��s a solid, versatile tool that does the job well without taking up too much space.

This is a very handy axe for outdoor activities and camping. It is a well-built, light-weight and easy to use. It can be used to cut small branches off trees and also make splitted logs smaller pieces for firewood. Love it.

Love the tactical look of this hatchet. The blade came super sharp and cut through 4-12 inch pine pretty quickly. The head of the hatchet is heavy enough to do some damage to wood. I like the hammer feature, making it a multi tool. Compact, durable and concealable. Grip could be a little wider but feels nice in my hand.

This thing is pretty sharp out of the box. Feels great in my hands and the weight distribution is perfect. The sleeve could've been designed a little better because it's a little awkward if its on your hip trying to pull it out, or maybe I just need to get used to it.

First impressions of this small hatchet are very good. It��s compact, so easy to keep in a bag when hiking. The full tang is great too, I haven��t been worried about it snapping in any scenario yet.

Out of the box, it came very sharp, which is always the case. Unlike some other axes with a similar model, this one doesn��t have rigid, sharp edges along the handle that start digging into your skin after continued use. I like it.

The hatchet has a very portable size and weight that actually allows to attach it to your belt with the included sheath and I do not even feel it due to its weight. Attaching to the belt is easy to perform, even possible while wearing the belt. Detaching the sheath from the belt works as well while wearing the belt. The sheath makes a solid and sturdy impression, and it feels safe to wear the hatchet on a belt.
Otherwise, I am planning to use it for camping trips and also as a tool in the yard.
The build quality seems very good and holding and using it feels balanced and comfortable.
The blade is very sharp and the full tang design (meaning blade portion and core inner handle are one piece) makes it a quite strong and versatile hatchet and tool. It should be noted that such portable small hatchet is best suited for light / medium use scenarios just because of its size and weight -- in layman's terms, it is not likely to cut down a whole tree with ease, but in outdoor / survival training scenarios etc. it makes totally sense.
I like that the hammer side can be used as well while the sheath is on.
I am very pleased with this tool and its small size and portability is my favorite feature.

Very well made. Heavy duty. I own some HX knives, and so was expecting good quality with this hatchet. Still pleasantly surprised at the exceptional quality.

This is a really nice hachet/axe. Its practically razor sharp and solidly built. The belt buckle is very good. The handle has a hole where you can attach a paracord. What is really nice is this axe throws very very well. This thing almost feels like a knife more than an axe. I love this tool. Great design.

This was actually sharp when it arrived. Most hatchets seem to be a bit dull when new, but not this one.
The sheath and securing straps are nice, but the belt clip feels a bit cheap.

This can be used for pounding tent stakes without taking off the sheath, the hammer section is exposed perfectly for this kind of thing while still sheathed.

The composite handle is quite nice, it has a good feel to it and is nice and grippy without being too bulky. The handle does not have any sort of rubber or vinyl that will degrade over time.

The end of the handle has a nice beveled hole that can be used for a lanyard or for a loop for pulling out tent stakes.

The belt clip is plastic and swings open so that you can adjust it for your belt width.
Max belt width is 1 3/4" with the adjuster removed entirely, 1 1/2" with the adjuster still in place.
This can be adjusted down to just 1/2" in 1/4" increments.

Over all this is 10 inches long (25.4 cm), and weighs 1 pound 3.54 oz (554 grams) with the sheath.

Its a nice little hatchet and I look forward do taking it camping.

Very nice little camp hatchet. Small and light but has enough weight to have some force behind it when in use. It works well for splitting branches for kindling (not cutting down trees or hacking apart large logs) and is comfortable enough in hand to use it making feather sticks. Hammer end makes quick work of tent stakes and the sheath it comes with is pretty nice. I will be changing out the belt attachment clip on the sheath to a more molle friendly style clip. and it has a few rough sports in the molded handle I will need to smooth out but other than those minor issues I am quite happy with this little hatchet.

Small ax for camping, kindling, and hammering in tent pegs etc. The grips is a bit short and slippery (the material), and this ax won't split logs or anything large like that, but for kindling it works fairly well. Will update if anything changes after a few camping trips.

I have a lot of axes, swords, manchettes and knives in my collection, several are HX products. This axe is heavier than it looks. It is sharper than most of my knives and perfectly balanced. The handle is quite comfortable all the way down with an easy feel. I have two of the longer handled axes I use at the same time to split down cook-wood for tabletop pizza ovens, smokers and grills. It is easy to carry this ax (and those two) on my belt with the super-user-friendly sheath and foolproof belt attachment system. It is equally a camping tool, survival instrument, a throwing-ax and self-defense weapon.

This is a small handheld hatchet with a milled face hammer head bolted on the back of the blade head. It has a thin, skeletonized handle with G10 grip panels.
The grip is nicely contoured to fit my hand well but also feels very 'skinny'. I like the feel of it better while wearing a glove. I get that it is a balance between capability and portability. It is sharp, right out of the box, and robust enough for any job that you would reasonably ask of it.

The Kydex sheath fits like a glove and offers excellent protection for the hatchet and anyone who is carrying it. IMHO' Two straps are redundant. I like that they can be removed or repositioned as I choose. The belt clip is just 'OK'. I have other sheaths that have similar devices that are better quality. This one is made from softer plastic, came with one removable and adjustable belt guide clip, and maxes out for a 1 1/2 inch belt. This belt clamp has locking tabs and a locking latch that allows you to open the clip for installation and removal from your belt. This is a welcome feature because you don't have to remove your belt to attach or detach it. It only attaches to the holster with two bolts at the top so you can feel the clamp flex at the bottom where there is no attachment. It can't be reoriented to horizontal carry.

All in all' It is a thoughtfully designed and well made product.

As someone who camps/overland's a lot and sleeps primarily in their vehicle, space is at a premium. I like having an axe that can be used as a hammer. Two tools in one. I admit that I didn't pay attention to the dimensions of this axe before ordering. It is smaller than expected but in my case, that's a plus as my use for an axe is more for splitting kindling or an emergency use which I think this will work perfectly for. So far, I've only split a couple small pieces of kindling off an already small log to test it out. Worked perfectly. The hammer end will be used for tent stakes and thing like that. Again, this should work perfectly for those uses. The hammer is bolted to the axe head which is something I hadn't seen before. The belt loop on the sheath opens up and the two straps on it could probably be used on MOLLE all though I didn't try. Overall, this is a heavy for it's size axe, that seems to be good quality while being two tools in one. I'm happy with it.

Good compromise between strength, weight, and usability.

The good:
Sharp and strong head.
Strong hammer.
Nice sheath.
Great fit in the sheath.
Chops wood well.

The bad:
The handle feels strong, but it's an awkward grip and it's compact. I don't feel like I can get a full-contact grip around the handle. A longer, thicker handle would increase the leverage but makes a heavier, bigger tool. So, tradeoffs.

The ugly:
No ugly. ;)

This is a small, lightweight axe and holding it in the hand does not instill confidence. I blame it on the grip because it actually has decent balance for such a short axe when splitting wood. A slightly thicker, rounded handle would feel better... I need more meat on it to get the best grip. I'm probably going to wrap it in paracord and leather for a custom fit.

Fortunately, the awkward grip doesn't affect the balance of the head of the axe on the downstroke. It cuts deep with little effort. That combination of weight, balance, and size make it a useful camping tool. Not perfect, but good.
