HX OUTDOORS ROCK APEX | Lame fixe | Lame DC53 3,8" | Manche en G10 noir | TD-18B

This affordable knife has a lot to offer. First, the DC53 steel has similar edge retention to D2, but much more toughness. A portion of the spine has been filed crisp to use with the included ferro rod. The full tang construction is sturdy enough to baton and for other hard use. With some minor modifications to the sheath it would be a perfect five star knife at this price point.

HX Outdoors Rock Apex DC53 This is a stunning piece. It's comfortable and well-balanced, and pretty light weight too. The blade and handle with the shaping and ergonomics enable various grip types and carry options. Features a full-tang DC53 steel blade. Apparently this is like a D2 on steroids lol! good edge retention, and a titanium nitride coating. Just a lovely lovely blade. Durable. Extremely sharp. Great shape and lovely grind and swedge on it. Sheath and accessories. Very impressive Kydex sheath that offers good retention and a removable drop loop for customization. It also includes a working fire steel. Looks good and is good. Lovely mix of the kydex and leather belt loop. It's looks so well made and it is. I reckon you get a premium knife, sheath and kit at a great price. So much knife and kit. It's suitable for a wide range of tasks, from everyday carry and camping to more demanding survival situations. Even a tactical role. I love it! I've found another fantastic knife maker. Some stunning pieces. I've been lucky enough to now own a few. Very impressed and pleased.

Definately be using HX Outdoors again.

Truly an excellent product, I was thrilled with it, I thank Taylor and Hx Outdoor for having had the opportunity to try this knife

Great knife. Very budge friendly and super sharp.

I absolutely love this Knife and it's good looking, as well! The only thing I'd look to change, is how the feral rod is positioned, so it's more secure. Overall, this is literally the best Fixed Blade that I own! ??

Amazing high quality knife!

This knife is built for heavy duty use. The build quality, fit and finish are fantastic. The materials are top notch. It feels great in the hand with its terrific ergonomics. Its extremely sharp out of the box. HX OUTDOORS hit a home run with this knife.

Great knife! Check out the video! This will hold up

Great knife

Well made awesome knife! Fit and finish is near perfect. Great addition to any knife collection or that one solid knife for all occasions.

I did an unboxing showing of the Rock Apex which I shared on my YouTube, Instagram and Tik Tok accounts followed by a full, long form video review (attached).
I enjoyed doing it, I also enjoyed the knife a great deal. The ergonomics of the handles are superb and the choice of G10 over injection molded FRNs adds to overall comfort. Its also got no hot spots on the handles or along the tang for a great feel in hand.
I am not familiar with the steel (DC 53) but have educated myself on it since getting the knife. I think its got tremendous bush crafting potential and I plan to do an even long, hard use review. Its got some tactical applications.
My only small critiques are personal preferences rather than cons. Since its geared more toward bush crafting, a simpler drop point might serve the function of the knife better and the Kydex sheath could use a thumb ramp for easier deployment.
Overall 7.5 out of 10

Pick one of these bad boys up today. This is an excellent knife. Just a perfect size. You can see that they thought of everything. It even has a little fire indicator for the portion of the blade that is not DLC coated, titanium DLC.

Tell you, hey, this is where you use the fire striker. And you can also see a logo there at the top that shows you you can use this for feather sticking, use the jimping on the back of the spine. Feather sticking or to make kindling for a fire. It's just a beautiful, well done knife.

Very comfortable to hold. There's that checker board strike pommel. Full tang, all integrated. It's a beautiful, beautiful knife. At this price point with the plastic case, the microfiber cleaning cloth, the sheath, the knife, this is a good buy.

This knife is a real banger! Excellent quality, excellent design and very high performance! This is a perfect belt knife for camping and hunting use. The DC53 steel is well done, holds an edge very nicely and is very tough and sharpens very nicely. The sheath is awesome and I mean awesome, its about perfect actually! Overall this knife is a crazy good deal at its current price. Check out my hard use video review on the knife on my YouTube channel DiamondCutSteel

Pick you one up, I promise you will love it!!

One of the best bang for your buck fixed blades with a lot to offer. I prefer this version over the grey as the handle has more traction due to the pattern on the handle.

Great Knife at a great price! Dont sleep on this one guys!

Awesome knife the ferry rod works great. Came super sharp and built like a tank. The knife fits very well the the sheath. Great purchase

Una pieza excelente. La verdad no me esperaba tanta calidad y el tama?o es brutal. Perfecto para bushcraft. Muchas gracias.
